San Mateo County Community College District is composed of 3 campuses serving 40,000 students each year. A wide variety of programs are offered by the school including 90 vocational-technical programs.Students can earn their A.A., A.S., or certificates of instruction.Numerous services are offered to students to meet their need and goals like child care facilities.
Canada College is one of the smallest community colleges in the district and offers bachelor’s degrees in degrees in nursing, business administration, liberal studies, and child and adolescent development in addition to teaching credentials for elementary and secondary schools and an accelerated master's degree in business administration. For those who want a career change later in their life the college offers careers in medical assisting, radiology, multimedia, early childhood education, fashion and interior design. Another benefit that this college offers is that most of the faculty has received their PhD Degrees.

College of San Mateo was the first community college in San Mateo County and started with 35 students in 1922. Today the college is located on a 153 acre site and serves more than 12,000 students. This College features three main lecture halls, three-building science center, an engineering building, a planetarium and two complexes: one which houses dental assisting, cosmetology and nursing, and one which houses electronics and aeronautics.

Skyline College opened its doors in 1916 and is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The 11 acre site serves most of the Northern part of San Mateo County. The college offers support services such as the One-Stop Student Services Center, the Center for Advanced Learning and Technology, the TLC (Tutoring and Learning Center). A significant amount of the 20,000 students that enroll in the 3 college districts enroll at Skyline College for evening classes.
